Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems is a popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, born on the 11th of July, 1995, in Lagos, into a family of a Nigerian mum and British father.

After her elementary education, she went to Dowen College, Lekki, in Lagos. Where she completed her secondary school education. She then relocated to Johannesburg, South Africa, to pursue an academic career in Economics at South African university.

Career

Tems was born into a humble family and discovered her love for music after joining a local singing group. She learned the basics of becoming a great singer during her childhood, recording songs with her school singing group and practicing with her brother’s guitar. She went on to become one of Nigeria’s most popular young singer-songwriters after the success of her 2019 album Try Me.
