Kehinde Bankole (born 27 March, 1985) is an actress, model and television presenter from Nigeria. She debuted in entertainment at the 2003 Miss Commonwealth Nigeria competition and went on to win the 2004 MBGN competition. In 2009, she was named the “Revelation of the Year” at the “Best of Nollywood” Awards two years after she made her first screen appearance in Wale Adenuga’s “Super Story”.

Born in Ogun State, Kehinde is the fourth child of six siblings. Babatunde (father) is an architect, while Titilayo (mother) is an administrative secretary. Kehinde Bankole has a twin sister, Taiwo, who also acts occasionally. She finished her nursery and primary school education in Tunwase nursery and primary school, Ikeja. She went on to study Mass Communication at Olabisi Onabanjo University, but took a break in 2004 to focus more on her modelling career.

Career

Bankole’s first foray into entertainment was when she entered the Miss Commonwealth Nigeria beauty contest in 2003. Although she didn’t win, Bankole said that the exposure was all that mattered to her, as she made it to the top 10 of the competition. She went on to compete in the most beautiful girl competition in Nigeria, but did not make the top 5 list.

In 2007, after the expiration of the contract of Lux’s ambassador Genevieve nnaji, Bankole was selected to be the new face of the brand, along with fellow nominees Sylvie Udeogu, and Olaide olaogun.

Acting

Bankole’s acting career began during her tenure as Lux ambassador when she starred in Wale adenuga’s family drama Super story: everything it takes, where she played the role of Caro. Since then, she has starred in other adenuga productions such as Papa ajasco and this life.

On television, Bankole is best known for her role as Kiki obi, a housewife, in Desperate housewives africa, a Nigerian version of the popular American show. She also starred in the film Prophetess, which starred Toyin Abraham.

Talk show host

She also co-hosts a variety of daytime talk shows, including Soul Sisters and African Kitchen.
