JAMB to Bar Students From Direct Entry Admissions

At least 2,795 candidates may be excluded from taking the Direct Entry (DE) examination in 2024.
The students concerned come from 155 institutions that did not certify their students.
It was also mentioned in a memo sent to certain institutions by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Students from 155 institutions can be barred by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) from applying for Direct Entry (DE).
According to Punch, the reason for the decision is a lack of verification by their certificate awarding institutions.

Some of the institutions include;

• Rufus Giwa Polytechnic in Owo, Ondo state
• College of Health Technology, Plateau State,
• College of Education, Lafiagi, Kwara state,
• College of Education, Oju, Benue state.

JAMB has issued a guide for DE candidates on how to deal with candidates who use illegal or fake A-level certificates/qualifications to get admission.
DE candidates should get in touch with their old colleges to get their certificates re-certified because JAMB will not admit candidates with un-certified certificates.
According to the information received, registration for the DE examination will begin on 28 February 2024.

JAMB’s partial memo to some institutions reads as follows:

“Institutions offering A’Level qualifications, degrees and diplomas were asked to use the central admissions processing (CAP) system to authenticate the qualifications and results submitted by candidates to the admissions board for admission.
“Even though the Board has sent letters and sent follow-up letters to institutions to confirm the claimed certificates, 2,795 certificates have not yet been confirmed from 155 institutions as some institutions have either not responded at all or have not responded at all.”
